Ko Jie Yang, the Managing Partner of JY Ko Advocates & Solicitors, was called to the Malaysian Bar in 2014 and brings over 12 years of extensive legal experience. He has appeared in all levels of court — from the Magistrates’ Court to the Federal Court — handling a wide spectrum of legal matters, including negligence and fraud claims, contractual disputes, company and land law, tenancy and strata disputes, judicial review, employment law, probate and family law, construction disputes, insolvency, debt recovery, and criminal defence.

Known for his strategic advocacy and courtroom expertise, Ko Jie Yang is frequently engaged by other law firms as counsel to argue complex cases on behalf of their clients. His reputation for precision and persuasive argumentation has earned him recognition among peers and clients alike.

Beyond litigation, Jie Yang is deeply passionate about legal education and thought leadership. He has hosted and shared insights through numerous free seminars and webinars, reflecting his commitment to public legal awareness. In 2025, he was invited by MAICSA as a guest speaker to present on “Directors’ Duties and Company Internal Conflict.”

Jie Yang currently serves as legal advisor on monthly retainer for various corporate clients, providing strategic counsel on corporate governance, debt recovery, and employment law.
